HHMA draws inspiration from innovators in the Hip Hop world like; KRS-One, A Tribe Called Quest, The Wu-Tang Clan, Gangstarr, Dead Prez, NAS, DMX, and the countless legends in West Coast Hip Hop, as well as from the Bboy/Bgirl & Krump movements.
HHMA also draws inspiration from innovators in the martial arts world like Sun Tzu, Miyamoto Musashi, Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Akira Kurosawa, and Dan Inosanto, as well as from iconic styles+philosophies like; Shaolin, Kung Fu, Iaido, Eskrima, Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing & more. At this point there are many talented artists that use similar skillsets and source materials to express their art and we try to celebrate them as loudly and as often as we can. “Hip Hop Martial Arts” is just our own way of expressing it.
