HHMA and it's members + affiliates have participated in many events to bring awareness and fundraise for; the women of the Congo, animal conservation, domestic violence, medical research, local police & fire departments, as well as to fundraise for individuals who were in need of medical attention. Our members have also volunteered at cultural schools and taught workshops to local law enforcement officers in California during a time when they were being targeted and killed. We were awarded a plaque of recognition for these efforts in 2016 & 2019 by the South Gate Police Department & by the city of Garden Grove. We were also awarded a certificate of honor from the Mayor of San Francisco (the late Edwin Lee) for our performances in 2012 which focused on bringing awareness to some of the rich cultures and endangered species of the Philippines.
We are extremely excited about the arts no matter if they are visual, performing, musical or otherwise. But our end goal is to use our art and our efforts to build and assist our community while helping those in need. As a people we are stronger together and we hope to do our part to help bring humanity together while building bridges towards a better world.
